I enjoy photography, computers, nature, music, researching, and many other things.
At the start of this month I purchased a domain name to handle my photography http://www.neowin.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif I figure the best time to start is now!

http://www.thisotherkingdom.com (http://www.thisotherkingdom.com/)
The only problems is possible menu glitches when on pages other than the home (any idea why?) and IE6 having a problem with one logo!
The main pages are run with Joomla, and the slideshow is from slideshowpro.net and I am using SlideshowPro Director also http://www.neowin.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
My host is dreamhost! It is so cheap, but next year I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it! I hope so though.

In the future I will be selling calendars through Cafepress, if anyone has ideas for different types (I was thinking an entire one of macro's, a vertical one, sunsets, etc) let me know...
Commenting on my guestbook and on here would be greatly appreciated and if you like my photos, bookmark the site and check back in a few months! Especially if you would like to purchase a calendar some day! I bought three this year for family members and they are GORGEOUS!

Thanks for reading, and I am just going to warn everyone that I am posting this in the website frontend section of the forums http://www.neowin.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif Please don't mod away!

Mitch.Cook.

Hmm... I think the problem is that your one question was regarding html/coding issues. You're on a forum of photographers (many of which I see use pre-existing places that essentially build their galleries for them) so they probably don't have an answer for your question.

But I've done quite a bit of web design and development and there's a few things I'd like to point out.

1)It's too busy
2)It's redundant
3)You don't manage your realestate well

1) There's too much going on, on the page.... Newsletter signup, poll, contact info, who's online, random image, stats, artists.... all trying to fit on one page of the screen. Tone it down, reduce the newsletter signup and poll to just links. Organize all your stuff off the menu, don't try throwing it all at the user at once.

2) You have your menu in two places on every single page. That's just redudant and the one on the left in the main content area is just taking up realestate (see below).

3) Your realestate management needs some improvement. As stated above, your menu is in two places and taking up valuable content space. Keep the one across the top as it's thin and non-intrusive. That white space that has the newsletter and poll is taking up WAY too much screen space. My resolution is at 1280x1024 and the content area only takes up a little more than HALF of the screen. Remove that whole white space, as your content should begin right below the menu. If you want, throw your gadgets on the left side in place of the menu (but don't have it take up 1/3 of horizontal space like that menu currently does.)

The graphical design part is clean and simple, which I like.

That's all I got. I don't know about the display issues you have, that would require some QA work... which is actually what I do (and for websites, at that)... but I'm supposed to get paid for that :P

Hey, well I have fixed all my display issues already... Made some changes to it also that I was planning to do when I had more time (please realize I am only 16 :P)
I have both menus on there because some people are blind, such as every single one of my friends. I will be like, be sure to check out the most important part of the entire site... the SLIDESHOW! and they're like, what? where? how do i get to it!
What do you think now...
