Awesome, I'm looking forward on getting the Maha C9000 with eneloop batteries or perhaps try out the MAHA versions?

Anyone have the MAHA batteries? I was thinking of keeping my 8 eneloop and stick with it and try another brand.

Otherwise, I will just get the charger and get 8 eneloops.

What do you guys think?

I use the MAHA with the 2700 mah AA's for the high current stuff, and the Eneloops for the things that need less power but need to always be charged.

High current stuff? What are you powering?

I only plan on using these for both my 580ex II flash. I currently have 8 eneloops for one flash and I'm thinking of getting another 8 of either eneloop or Maha.

Should I get more eneloops or try out Maha's? This way, I have both types of batteries. I don't know much about the Maha batteries other than they are more powerful than the Eneloops. I don't know about their retaining charge capability.

That's a coincidence: my high-current stuff is my 580ex and 420ex!

The Eneloops are fantastic batteries to keep in the flash units when you don't use them too often (which I don't). That is becasue the beauty of the Eneloops is that they stay charged.

However, when I know I am going to be using the flash units, I top off the MAHA 2700 AA's right before the event. The extra current is unbelievable! The flashes cycle much faster, and last much longer between battery changes.

The only down side to the high current batteries is that when I forget that they are in the flash units and I store them, when I really need them in a hurry (after a month of storage) I grab them, run out, and then find out that I have no power. That was the day I bought the Eneloops, and I am now in the habit of always putting them in the EX's before I put them in the closet.

A question for you eneloop users..
I've only just heard of these,

Are "ultra low discharge" the same thing?

Don't quote me but yes! It is the same thing. Imedion brands are Maha's version of the Eneloop (Sanyo).

Eneloop is Mah 2000 and Imedion is 2100 and both are considered Low discharge.

I'm actually debating between the two. 2000 versus 21000 Mah? I don't know what the real difference or advantages/disadvantages are.

Eneloop with Maha MH-C9000 Charger - I have been using this combo for well over a year. I use the batteries in my 580 1nd 430 flashes and also in my wife's point and shoot.

The charger is absolutely great, you can analyze, discharge, cycle, top off and charge.

Previously I used Duracell and got poor performance and life from them.

Yep, thats the big thing with the eneloops, they were one of the first (AFAIK) to be ultra low discharge and have been one of the best in all other categories.

Hey, when you guys charge your eneloops with the MAHA, do you always refresh them or just top off?

Just curious as to how you all charge your batteries.

Yup, people are mixing up manufacturer names with battery types

Manufacturer: ----Sanyo --- ---Maha -----
Ordinary NiMH ---(many)----- ---Powerex---
Long life NiMH ---Eneloop-- ---Imedion---
