Here is one for folks with a 1d.
I'm trying out a new 1D and have found something that is a little weird.
When i place the CF card in my reader and check the file, all images are tagged with a TIFF extension even though they have been shot as RAW only in the body. As well when checking the type of file i'm being told by Windows that they are OmniPage Image Docs.
Running Win XP home.
No matter what I open them with they are all tagged as TIFF's. Open the images in PS CS and they open in the RAW converter window. Open in Canon Photo Professional and they are called RAW but with the same TIFF extension. Anyone have a clue as to what is happening here?
My 10D files open as CRW's so the problem is whith?????

I'm not sure why this is the case but it is normal. They arnt acutally TIFFs they are just tagged as so.

Nothing to worry about.

.TIF is RAW in 1D, it's supported by PS CS, C1, DPP, etc.

there is no need to worry at all

Thanks for the info guys. It looks a little screwy seeing a RAW file called TIFF. Even wierder is having it opened in W Paint.
I love this camera. I do believe that the 10D will be heading to a new home.

I have PS directed to open the files, you can assign any extension to any program...

I guess you could even make those excel spreadsheets open the madden .exe to keep you on task 8)
