Hello I am new here

I am currently in the process of getting a 20D and I need a telephoto lenes but I won’t have allot of money for one. Will the EF 90-300mm f/4-5.6 USM be all right for drag racing and circuit racing?? I would like a nice L series F2.8 lenses but there out of my price range at the moment

Is there any thing else in that sort of price range with a good zoom that would be more appropriate?

Cheers
Shane

a 90-300mm???

never heard of it. 80-200 or a 75-300 yes but never a 90-300mm.

I used a 75-300 EFIII for Aviation photography so drag racing should be ok.

If you would like an L lens but dont have the $$$ for one try a 100-300MM F5.6 older model L lens I just picked one up and well its nice in daylight but ok in lower light

If its a sunny day 300mm will be 5.6. And 90mm or so will be 3.5 should be ok turn up the ISO 1 or 2 turns and see what happens.... Thanks for the info on the lens..... Thats a new on for me

thanks NP

its just when it becomes over cast is the problem, the 20d has low noise in its OSi range so that might have to be an option, but i really hate a good photo rewined by noise
