Hi
I just ordered a 17-55mm lens and was wondering how I know what filter goes on it? I was looking on bhphotovideo at the hoya and b+w but can't figure out what size goes on it.
I'm using the lens on a 40D if that makes any difference.
Thankyou!

if it is this lens - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/425812-USA/Canon_1242B002_EF_S_17_55mm_f_2_8_IS.html, the Specifications page says it uses a 77mm filter.
Camera body does not matter when sizing a filter. The filter just screws into the threads on the front of the lens. Filter companies will make filters to fit the many lens diameters out there.
