Very nice Gary, you have captured lots of detail. Love the poses. I dont have any good shots of these guys yet.

Fantastic photos, Gary. Feather definition and background are about as good as they come.

Wow - I love these shots. That first image is my favorite. So sharp and clear. It never occurred to me to crop it with the tree diagonal. I think it really works, plus it places the eye right in that "magic" spot. And the background is so perfect. How do you get these photos so clear? Can you describe your technique and the equipment used? How close were you?

The equipment for these shots was a Canon 40D and a 300/4 + 1.4TC
Technique: I point the Big White thing at the subject and push the little silver button and try to hold a still as I can. Distance was about 20 Feet.

Beautiful series. I like all of them for their colour, focus and comp. But I find #3 particularly attractive because of the excellent use and intersection of the vertical lines of the tree with the horizontal lines of your subject....it just draws your immediate attention to your gorgeous subject. Superbly done.
