I placed the subjects diagonally but still in front of the sun, and used 1/32 on my 430EX flash.
I'm quite happy with the results, I think the slight blur gives it a comforting feel. This was shot with my standard 18-55mm kit lens.
I can't wait to buy other lenses!

I REALLY like the colors and their expressions. I just wish you hadn't cut off the bottom girl's feet. Despite that, I could defintely see this in an ad. Good work! :D

Good eye on the feet part! I should have done some better framing when taking the picture, but everyone was in a hurry cause it was freezing...And it's in Florida :(

Nice shot, Great fun look and nice colours in the background.
Think it needed sharpening and there is some posterisation in the sky (could be the web conversion)

Yep, it's a nice moment caught but I can't agree about the blurring giving comfort, it just looks too soft and needs the sharpening. You also need to have a word with that horizon or we'll be in for a tsunami! Lovely smiles, looks like great fun, and good use of flash imo.

It is a very nice shot! I have two suggestions for post processing: straighten the horizon (the wonky horizon just pull your attention away from the main subject) and correct the very strong yellow bias in the image. As mentioned earlier, having the faces of the people in focus is important.
Here is an edit with the yellow bias corrected and the horizon straightened.

I would just add to Bill's suggestions a slight increase in gamma and a small adjustment in highlights/shadows to make the colors a little more crisp. A well done, fun picture EOS.
Edit: on second thought it might have lost too much color on my edit :)

Nice ones guys, I edited the image and added the yellow tone to it on purpose, I have the raw image somewhere lol.
I actually got the colors from some random urban magazine my sister had. But hey, I suppose it would need alot of changes to suite the tastes of the audience. Thanks for the replies!
