After using Zenfolio for a few months, I realize that its management tools could be improved. Keywords and Collections seem to be designed with the assumption that users will only work with one picture at a time.
If I want to remove the keyword "beach" from 57 pictures, I have to remember which shots use that keyword and go to each one individually.
If I have a picture in 7 different collections and want to remove it from all of them, I have to delete the picture or visit all 7 collections and remove the picture 7 times.
These 2 things now take the first 2 spots on my Zenfolio wish list:
1. Keyword Management: A list of all keywords used should be available. From this list, users should be able to view all pictures with a certain keyword. Selected keywords could be edited, removed, or otherwise modified from this list.
2. Collection Management: Users should be able to add images to more than one collection at a time. When individual images are selected, users should be presented with a list of collections to which the image belongs. Images should be able to be removed from collections through this list.
3. Image Protection: Zenfolio does an outstanding job with protection on images and galleries. I would like to see the links for individual image sizes bypass the protection that is set for browsing and downloading images. This would allow me to post an image to a website or email a direct link while still protecting the image from random visitors browsing my galleries.
4. Sort By: The "Sort By" setting in galleries and collections needs to be "sticky". There should be a default sort order that is remembered for each upload. Users currently have to re-sort images with every upload.
5. Images in Galleries: Users should be able to add a single image to multiple galleries just as can be done with collections.
6. Replace Images: Users should be able to replace an image without changing the URL and without resetting the veiw count. This would allow uploading of new edits or crops without having to fix broken links if the image was previously posted somewhere.
7. Contacts: Zenfolio should implement some method to track and/or view pictures from a user's favorite photographers on Zenfolio.
8. Favorites: Zenfolio should implement some method for users to track their favorite pictures. Not all users allow their images to be added to collections.
