Ok bare with me I have a few questions to ask. I am fairly new to this whole client thing and want to go about it in the most proper way I can.

!. When your client has placed their order and you have delivered the order do you send a thank you email and if so, does anyone have an example of what woud be in that email.

2. I tell my clients that I keep their proofs for 1 year. How do you tell them that is has been a year and you will be deleting all of their proofs off your hard drive. Any offer to purchase proofs at a discounted price?

Thanks in advance

1) I would send a card via "Snail Mail" Much more professional and personable.

2) I think you simply need a two-year calander of some kind (paper or digital) and simply go 365 days ahead and enter the clients name and contact info. On the 15th of each month, I'd see who's due for removal at the end of the NEXT month and inform them of this fact by email and phone.

2B) I think this would depend on how much revenue has been generated via prints. If you think you've "squeezed the turnip" enough then I'd say go ahead and offer the discount. If not, I'd sell them at full boat.

Get a Blue-Ray burner and save everything. Mark the disk with job numbers and save a txt file of job #'s on your HD. Then delete the files and back-ups. Charge a research fee if a client wants an image older than 1 year.
