Is there a storage device that I can download my image files from my 20d. I don't need an image viewer just a small portable storage device. Preferably cheap!

I have a Xdrive 11 which accepts CF cards, has 60g space made by Vosonic and have had this for a year or so. UK prices they are about £200 plus VAT but they do drives from 20g up from about £120 up. Brilliantly reliable and they have long lsting internal batteries and USB2 connection. These are not cheap though! BUT think of the price of gig in memory cards!

I've had one of the old original Vosonic X-drives from Computer Geeks. The total cost to me was around $140, including the hard disk drive. Simplicity!

Ditto.
I use the one with 20GB HDD - simple and reliable storage.

Hi All - recently saw a new product from Delkin in a photo magazine called USB Bridge. With the units above, the card is inserted into a built-in card reader in which the images are then transferred to the builit-in hard drive. The USB bridge seems to allow you to use ANY usb devices together - for example from the camera direct (likely to be slow) through the USB bridge to, say, a portable CD writer or portable hard drive - the difference is that a dedicated device with built-in card reader is no longer required - when I first saw it I thought it was a neat idea - here's the link and no I am not a Delkin employee :-)

I use an iPod. Not only can I store plenty of photos, listen to all my music and backup my powerbook's home folder, but I can look stylish at the same time:)
you can get either a card reader or a direct camera transfer cable from Belkin.
cheers

None of thee transfer from the card to the device very quickly.
I believe they are essentally using a DOS "XCOPY32" command.. with the /v switch enabled (="verify" ) which does slow things down a bit.
