ok people any help would be greatly apreciated as i think i am being scamed/riped off

ok well me and a buddy of mine picked up a canon 10d camera with a memeroy card and a 50mm lens for rather cheap after we had found out how much the camera was actaully worth. we buy and sell on ebay a good bit. well friend of ours who knows cameras checked it out, was snaping pictures of a few things to test the camera, worked fin 100% good as new. we list the item on ebay, goes for 926 and some change. good deal so far. then the problems start a flying. the buyer asks me about manuals and such, i explain to him there are known, he then asks for pointers on the camera i explain i know about as much as he does, witch is nothing. well i ship the camera out to him, he gets the camera. the day after he said he has the camera, he claims, its broken. he says he charged up the battery, turned it on, then nothing, jsut says EOS and the LCD does not power up at all. he then emails me back says hes asked on a forum somewhere about this and says someone suggests the CF card slot has a bent pin. he had told me before he tried some of his "own cards" to see if that would help it, but in a later email also said he had just charged the camera up and thats it (keep in mind he asked for manuals and pointers on how to use the camera itself). well now he says he sees the bent pin and he wants a full refund as it isnt mint, he keeps pushing for this refund so bad, he wants to give me back a broken camera (that was working when it left my house) and he wants my money. oooooookk :(. well then i say find out whats involoved in fixing this, he did, and says itll cost him 195 dollars i suggested i might give him a refund of what it costs to fix it, but im wondering, if this is even true, he says you have to ship the camera out to canon for service, but i definitly need soem big time help on this to find out if im being jerked around, i think i am, ive never had this much of a problem with a seller. also if it does cost 195 to fix, im questioning why i need to refund him my money, sales on ebay are as is, everyone knows that, i even list that in my sale item description

and by the way what do 10ds typically go for new usually, like 1200?

Did you make note of the serial number on the camera you shipped him? He may be trying to send you back a different, broken unit. If you shipped the flash card in the camera and it worked then his story is suspect. I buy and sell a lot on Ebay and have a 100% rating of 293. Your descriptions should be as detailed as possible and disclose any problems. If its broke, say how bad. Ebay is a case where honesty is the best policy. Even if you said "as is" a glowing description could be a problem. Check this party's feedback to see if there is a pattern of buyers remorse.

it was in mint condition for a camera, i did use the ebay description of the item, witch i will never ever do again it conveys the idea of a new item, theres no way in hell im going to take the camera back, b/c it shiped out working, he says i must have bent it loading the card in and out, but thats not possible as we check how it was working right before we shiped it out, as in we didnt move the card after that, but thats ok...what do these cameras value new typically?

If you know for a fact that it was working 100% when you sent it, then no, no refund for him.
You are not a business, and have no refund policy.
The current retail in the US is $1200

I agree with Drisley, you know the camera worked when you sent it, so as long as you are being honest, then he either broke it or it we can always blame the 20D lol.

Chances are he put the card in the wrong way, pressed until somehting broke. I do feel bad for the guy since he spent $900 and change and broke it, but that was his mistake not your's.

Cheers.

i guess ill have to live with one negative feedback, thats what he said hed do if he didnt get the refund, but honeslty yes im being honest here theres no way the camera was broken when i shipped it i know that, this is what bothers me about it, i feel bad but i mean it was his own mistake, i dont think he wanted to pay that much for a camera in the 1st place bid on it and won and then was shocked, ive done that once, but it was on like a 100 dollar item and i had the money for it and such
