I'm in the market for a Mark II N so I thought I'd start here! I've seen plenty of them with low shutter count (16-18k) going for around $2000 so I'd like to start around that price. As long as it functions perfectly, aesthetics aren't that important.
I'd be interested in trading some of my gear as well. If trades don't work, I'll be selling some or all of the following which I'll make a thread for once I get my N:
Canon 5D, Canon 30D with grip, 24-70 2.8L, Sigma 15mm 2.8 Fisheye, Canon 100mm 2.8 macro
Please don't contact me about selling these outright at the moment - I'm putting them up merely for people who have a 1D MKII N and might be interested in trading it for some of the gear. Once I nail down an N to buy is when those items will be sold here on POTN, thanks!!

I can honestly tell you this. You will never find a 1D Mark IIN with 6-8K shutter count for around $2000. You won't even find one this cheap on ebay. $2500 yes. $2000 no.
Here's the link for you
http://photography.search.ebay.com/1d-mark-II-N_Digital-Cameras_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfnuZ1QQfromZR10QQfsooZ2QQf sopZ32QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQrprZ249QQsabfmtsZ1QQsacatZ 29997QQsaobfmtsZinsifQQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZQQxpufuZx
I sold my one 1d2N with 13,000 clicks for $2600 in less than one week!!!
Now I'm selling my second 1d2N with only 488 clicks for $2900, if you're interested let me know.
Perhaps you are more in the market for a 1D Mark II Non-N. Those can easily be found for $1700 - $1800. Same thing as the N version only with a .5" smaller LCD. Save a couple hundred and buy a new lens!
Good luck with your find.

Yea, granted they don't have that low of shutter count - a quick search of completed auctions on "flea-bay" yielded 2 N's for under $2,000 and 4 N's between $2,000 and $2,300 in the past month.
Hell, one was $1575 with 13k actuations here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-EOS-1D-Mark-II-N-digital-SLR-camera-8-2-MP_W0QQitemZ180206672210QQihZ008QQcategoryZ43454QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).
I know this isn't ebay, but I don't think a starting point for negotiations of $2000 is too much to ask. Glad you got what you did for your cameras, but I'm the kind of guy that doesn't mind waiting a bit for a good deal. Thanks, and I'll keep your camera in mind!

ooohhhh buuuuurn - but mine only has 300 clicks *Wink wink*
Seriously tho... don't bite off my head for trying to get a deal. I'm a student, I work hard, I study hard, and I don't get that much money - so I need to find deals. If I wanted to pay full price for a camera I'd buy a NEW one!
Thanks to Adaptive for your comments and the offer on your camera - it's totally cool. But for you lurkers with no camera to sell/trade, and some axe to grind - please move along.

And another thing - the sub $2000 N's were legitimate ebay sales from reputable sellers. The $1200 5D pipe dream you spoke of was a "buy-it-now" from an ebayer with 13 feedback from items less than $10 and he was selling several auctions of the exact same thing (descriptions and photos were identical). If you want a "good deal" from those guys, you get what's coming to ya.
The lowest possible legitimate 5D on ebay was $1500.

Im selling my markII for 1800. Low clicks. The only real difference between the Mark II and the "N" is a bigger screen, bigger buffer, jpegs picture styles, and you can name your files being saved. To me thats not worth the $600 more the "N" is over the regular mark II.

Thanks! I'm actually going to have 1 of each eventually - I'll keep yours in mind! You still in Japan?

Yes but Im on a military installation, so shipping is the same as it would be in the states. No customs, no added fees, nothing like that. Let me know if youre interested. I just dropped the price to $1775. Have you checked out the link in my sig?

Actually I have seen a legitimate 5D with grip sell for $1300 here on POTN once before. And I think right now there is another 5D for sale also but it has a problem with mirror or something. There will always be a AWESOME deal on a CHEAP camera, but cheap cameras are cheap for a reason, mostly because there is something wrong with it.
