Tallahasse, FL - Photo clubs?

Any photographers in the Tallahassee area? Did a search for photography clubs here in the area and didn't find anything. Am I the only person shooting in Tally? :lol:
If there aren't any Photo Clubs in the area I'd be interested in helping start one.

I'm in Tallahassee. The closest photo club I know of is in Jacksonville. Maybe we should start one ;)

I am about an hour and a half away in panama city. I am looking for the same thing in my area, but they seem to be covert. best of luck.

I would certainly be open to meeting at an event out your way, but i couldnt possibly attend regular meetings at a club that far away.

Did anyone end up starting a photo club in Tally? I'm a beginner - just started with my first DSLR (Canon Rebel XSi) in September and have been looking for a dig. photo class or group to learn more. I would love to join a photo club, if there is one... I'm nowhere near experienced enough to start one myself.

I'm not in Tally regularly, but I travel to SGI (St George) anywhere from 6-12 times a year. I would be interested in any outings, etc and could try and schedule my visits accordingly.

FYI have been a member of the local photo club here. I could get the basic info on how they structure things, etc. They meet at meeting room at a local library, twice a month. 1st and 3rd thursdays at 7pm. One meeting is a competition. One category color, one bw, one slides. They have a local pro come in to judge. I stopped going because of no digital category and it could have easily replace the slides, because they used a projector. Anyway their setup was good and well documented, etc. The other meeting was for some learning or class, etc. Occassionally they would do a organized field trip to shoot. Then end of the year winners went into categories for annual awards.

Just some ideas if you start to get it together. I really was seeking more of organized photo activities, etc. So I sought out members here and on other forums and now have a group that gets together when we can and we go shout some neat locations around the state.
