I usually just by Tiffen filters. I want a top quality CP for a couple of L-series lenses I am getting. What is the best for the money?

I have a B+W CircPol. Other good company is Heliopan. The better the lens, the better the filter needs to be. Hoya Super Mulitcoated filters can be good as well.

I agree. My B&W 77mm CPL works well and is made well.

Another vote for B+W.
I have also bought several filters from Freeman, and the transactions went very well. He backed off of his eBay activities over the summer, and it seemed he was a little hard to get in contact with, so I would email him to verify he is actively selling before making a commitment.
Have Fun,

I have a HOYA circular polarising on my 16-35 L lens with no complaints. I have also used it on the Lseries lens 70-200 f2.8 but losing the light stops means i have replaced this with just a skylight 1A

I have used a Hoya on my 70-200 2.8 L for several years. It has produced excellent results. Just don't buy a cheapie and you will be fine.

Was searching the forum for some info on polarizer brands when I hit this thread. I am looking for a 67mm CP for my sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens and would like to know if the B+W circular polarizer (non coated) supposed to be as good as (or better than) Hoya S-HMC? B&H has almost the same price for both of these...

How cheap is a cheapies (for 77mm). Is $100 considered a cheapie, how about $150. Just need a referrence price.
Thanks
