I moved the ISO up to 3200 and shot at 1/500 tonight. Please help me with C&C...the first one is Av 2.2, the second is 1.8.

woah... 3200 with almost no noise??? or was that after NR ???? the 40D is looking very good right now, hehe
are these as shot or cropped???
if these are as shot, then i would say IMHO that landscape is not the best orientation for B'ball, while there are certain shots that can only look good in landscape, what you are trying to capture is not suitable for landscape.

I did run them through Noiseware, and the only indoor lens I have right now is my 50mm 1.8. They are not in landscape, they are shot as is, just with NR and a little saturation.
Still wanting that 85mm 1.8!!!

She is revering to the orientation of the image, not settings. Landsape referring to wider than tall, and portrait referring to taller than wide.

shot as is, as in landscape orientation?
what i meant to ask is did u crop this image down into what you display here or is it as shot?
i would say, try cropping tighter IMO would be better.
BTW, I'm a HE, not a She

the more senior and experienced members might correct me on this if they feel it's not ok,
i used to be like you, worried about cutting off limbs, but then, after looking at a lot of stuff, for this image, I came up with, the concentration of the action is on the ball, facial expression of the offense and the basketball net can be seen. the defender's arm is extra dead space if you leave it in, so i started right at the edge of the net and board and did the 2x3 crop ratio from there.
so they're neither in the NAIA or NCAA right, i assume... i just want to gauge the lighting...

No, they are a JC. The lighting is not great. Last time I shot at 1600 ISO and had a tough time PP. I like this better, but do not have a great eye as to what works.
When I crop these images, do I lose any of the resolution?
