These two pics are my first attempts at HDR. (i posted them in my thread over at the "RAW, Post Processing and Printing" section, but haven't recieved any feedback.

I Would love CC, as I am super new to this and know there are a million things to improve, no feelings will be hurt.

Hey bud, I am a big HDR user myself, but i really don't see how it affected the image in anyway shadows and highlights could not? There just isn't a huge range from the lights to the darks to make this worth doing an hdr.

maybe if it was sitting against the window so you can see the guitar and the outside :)

Same scenario man! HDR is great for scenes with a wide dynamic range! like the dark inside of your kitchen and the the bright view through your window. otherwise its just a photo :)

here is a decent example

Im with Dr. Flynn I just dont see the need for an HDR in this situation. In the first shot I can see a blown highlight.

I'm just practicing playing with the program. THe reason i have no other pictures right now is because it has been between -40 and -30 all week. Celsius or fahrenheit, thats pretty much the same.
Once the weather shapes up, i'll try and get some more contrasting pictures. Right now i'm looking more for processing suggestions. Like, use more saturation, or smoothing, or gamma, etc

Ok, so i tried playing with the light smoothing level, to try and get an animated type of look, and I get this green tinge, (you casn see it in the shadow of the couch)

Anyone know why?

Does anyone know why the armrest's shadow went green instead of black? That seems to happen with Photomatix - not sure why but I have it on mine as well - on occasion.
