Took a pic of this lovely face today at work. This is a juvenile oyster toadfish, 3" long.

A guy caught this one off the Cornish coast last year (he threw it back), it looks very similar but he called it a Scorpion fish.

Cool eyes. I like the way the iris seems to roll out at the bottom.

Thank you. I have caught them to about 15 inches. Last spring I was in North Carolina diving a jetty and they were everywhere. And it must have been breeding season because it was deafening. They make a drumming sound to attract a mate.

Yep, that is a scorpionfish. The toadfish is more closely related to monkfish, batfish, frogfish, etc... We have a similar looking scrorpionfish here as well. Watch out for the shrap spines around the head!
