Chicago Lunar New Year Parade

Hey one and all,

Just wondering if anyone in the Chicago area is planning on going to the New Year parade on Feb 10th?

February 10th, 2008 (Sunday) Lunar New Year Parade
1:00 p.m. Parade Step Off
On Wentworth from 24th St. to Cermak Rd.
Chinatown New Year Parade celebrating the Lunar New Year, “Year of the Rat,
4706” will include marching bands, floats, lion teams, a100’ Mystical Dragon, and
Miss Friendship Ambassador. Please join us to welcome the New Year as we
convey “Gung Hay Fat Choi” to all in attendance.

Well, I didn't make it up there. I live in South Bend and we had white-out conditions and didn't feel like driving two hours in it.

Did anyone go? I would love to see some shots on what I missed.

i went to it but wow was it cold. i had no gloves and my hands froze instantly. lol

this is my first time going to the parade and it was kinda short. 40 minutes tops. i was disappointed. i didnt take much pics and the ones i have arent that good. i couldnt focus on taking pics today. ill post a couple

Excellent photos, especially gven the weather! I did the same last year...Jon and I linked up for the Washington, DC parade in mid-February...it was bitting cold! We went to Starbucks afterwards and got a coffee for each hand to warm up. Like your parade, that one lasted about 30 minutes max!

Great shots! I really like the second one. I wish i could have made it but between freezing and the wife being mad at me for dragging her out to it I think its better I did not go. :-)
