I'm thinking of getting this lens for the A540.
But does anyone know how many stops of light is lost using this? I'm assuming it is much like an SLR teleconverter where you lose 1 stop of light with a 1.4X, and 2 stops of light with the 2.0X.
Just want to know before I pick one up, because I'm curious like that.

I have a WD-58 and used it with the 18-55 kit lens.
This is a .7x wide lens.
I ran a few quick tests using histo in CR4 to evaluate them.
I did not notice any noticeable difference.
The camera meter was also staying perfectly in the middle and there was no change with the WD-58 or without.
I hope this helps. I don't know if the WC-DC52 will behave the same.
My WD-58 is a 58mm thread size and it is very massive so I guess that helps with the light gathering capabilities.

hey Alex, can you send me some sample photos you have taken with that lens combo? Preferably full sized jpeg? I want to see the edge quality. I know it won't be great, but I just want to see HOW BAD it actually gets.
