As the local fair is in town at the moment i took the chance to have a go at some night time shots.
I was a little dissapointed with most of them as the all seem to be a bit out of focus, i was really struggling with this. I was wondering whether it was camera shake due to the mirror flipping up, all shots were taken at about f8 for 0.5 secs. Would i be better to install the hacked firmware for my rebel to enable mirrror lock up?

A couple of the better shots are below and i would love your comments.

Out of the two I would choose the second one. The streaking light in the bottom left side adds a dimension to it that is pleasing to me. Having looked closely at the top I find it just a bit on the soft side. Good work as night photography is not the easiest thing to get great results.

The second one gets my vote too, the first one doesn't say a whole lot, but that is a big azzed ferris wheel!

While we're on the subject...I didn't get a chance to shoot the county fair this year, but here are a couple of 2003 offerings, shot about and hour before and after dusk on a Friday night. Comments are certainly welcome.
