EOS Digital Solution Software problem

I am sad and I hope someone can help me? Please!

I have just tried installing the Digital Solution Software for my new 400D, but the first this I read is "

"Never connect the camera to your computer before you install the software. The software will net be installed correctly".

Well you've guessed it I did connect the camera as I was not sure if I was keeping the camera and I didn't want to rip open everything in the box...where this instruction is well hidden!


I found an instruction that I think I followed, but the software still will not installand I have also done a system restore to try and trick the PC.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Just a basic question here, have you rebooted the computer since you plugged the camera in and then tried to install the software?

You shouldn't have any problems really. Unplug your camera, install the software, then plug your camera back in.
I have plugged things into my PC before installing the software without any trouble.

I personally prefer to use a card reader than connect the camera directly to the PC if I just want to copy images over.
Obviously it's different if you want to use the remote shooting software, but I use a card reader most of the time.
