Today I went to my first event of 2008!!! Wooo! The South Downs Stages Rally held at Goodwood Circuit. After a few months off I was a little bit rusty and the chilly weather didn't help much, but still it was good to get back out there! Saw a few u guys, said hello. Also saw a few of you but not to talk to, no doubt see you at some point this year!

I'm expecting quite a few threads from this event, seems even more people are walking around with big ol' cameras and lenses

Looking forward to the new season, it's officially kicked off in my books now! I wonder if Brands or Thruxton has sprouted any new fencing during the off-season, wouldn't be suprised! One thing I really like about Goodwood is the open'ness and unobstructed view everywhere!

Anyway enough talk here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos...

#4 Marshals had the right idea wearing hats, was nipply! My right hand nearly fell off at one point!

Like last year the viewing was excellent but overall a little limiting, still some good spots! The chicanes aren't exactly "photogenic" (dodgy wooden pallets) but they provided the drivers with a challenge nonetheless.

If you would like you can view more and larger versions here - http://www.ae-photography.co.uk/020208.html

Be patient the gallery may take a few seconds to load.

Comments welcome as always.

Cheers!

Nice work, Az :)

It was a cold and bizarre event. Three of my friends were actually given the third degree for using professional looking equipment whilst not being signed on... That's the first time I can remember that happening at a UK circuit. Thankfully my distinctly amateur gear escaped notice.
