I shoot a 40D, RAW, neutral picture style.
I find I almost always bump sharpness at least one in DPP or just got to CS3 with it.
So I bumped the in cam PS sharpness by one. I don't like it. I did it to save a flow step but something don't sit right when I try to do other things.
Is the in cam sharpening different than the DPP?
How does in cam sharpening effect a raw file. Moot?

RAW is RAW, pure sensor data, picture styles aren't a factor, only for JPG. You should read a book on RAW, there's one in the book thread linked from my sig.
Edit - this book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FReal-World-Camera-Adobe-Photoshop%2Fdp%2F0321518675%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbook s%26qid%3D1183010240%26sr%3D1-1&tag=headphonerevi-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325).

Isn't it true that DPP recognizes the Sharpness, Contrast, and Saturation settings in camera and applies them to the RAW files? I know PSE and ACR don't but i swear i have seen someone mentioned DPP does. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It recognizes the setting...But they are completly reversable because they are raw. The setting are not applied to the photo they are applied as a recipie to the photo if that makes sense.

Thanks Guys.
I went shooting today with Neutral picture style back to defaults and am happy again. I don't know whats going on, my eyes tricking me or the software.
With in-cam I'll notice things in the boken I do not like.
Anyway, I'm happy again and posting a hand held 100% crop. No processing. The light was low and I wanted 1/250 shutter speed so I had to get ISO 500 to get it. The EF 300 f/4L IS wide open on my 40D thrills me.
