Some recent flower shots. first 4 fairly normal but the last 3 are all pharts (ie heavily photoshopped). Did find a lonely crocus - suspect all the narcissus/bulb hoverflies I shot last year have eaten the rest :(.

Hiya Brian,
Great shots, that Crocus is my favorite, wonderful colours ! Saffron in the making eh, I think its still the World's most expensive Spice by weight, maybe they should grow this in Afghanistan instead of the Poppy but I guess the loss in profit would be to great for the Drug Lords to bare.
Cheers for now

I think they are doing just that in Afghanistan but don't know if the required conditions are the same for both crops

Hiya Brian,
Some of the finest Saffron comes from Pampore in Kashmir so I guess it would be feasible to grow it in the ' Hell Hole ' Afghanistan !
I read somewhere recently that Saffron is grown in Iran & that the Tehran University of Medical Sciences have discovered in clinical findings that suggests saffron is a safe and effective antidepressant also it has AntiConvulsant ( epilepsy )properties amongst others :D
Btw I like all the other shots/pharts it's just the Crocus is my Fav ;):D
Cheers for now

Not sure if that would be murdering flowers, great series. I really like the composition and detail in #4.

LOL!! SO sorry Brian. I am not one for B&W in any form of photography but that is just my personal taste. Did not mean to hurt your feelings. LOL!!

No probs - I dislike most B&W conversions as well esp in macro shots. ;)
