new 220ex!

I've been wanting a smaller flash for a very long time now. As I only own a 1dmkii (just one) and travel a lot (with the lovely wife) and own many primes, I find it hard to bring the flash along. I always do my best to look discreet (its though enough with the 1d body and say an 85 L attached) so a 580EX would definitely blow my cover.

For some reason its been real hard to find a 220ex here in this country (UAE). I had ordered one from the local photo store a few months ago and it finally came in. Sure I paid 60$ more for it here but I coulndt find from a reputable seller online.

Ive used it slightly and it does exactly what I need, provides
fill flash and reasonable lighting. Its not as small as many reviewers claimed (as small as a cigarette pack they said). Its maybe as high/tall and wide as a cigarette pack but its definitely deeper/wider/fatter than a cigarette pack but its definitely significantly smaller than the 580ex.

pro,so I dont blend in. Haha no seriously, I personally dont like looking like a typical tourist (especially not an American tourist - no offense). I go to places where I already stick out due to my ethic facial features. I definitely do not look East Asian (i.e Chinese/Malay etc..).

So a little flash makes you looks less like a tourist, especially on a honking camera like the 1DmkII? :lol: :)

My sig does not mention the fact that my first flash is a 220ex. Still have it, not very powerful and never gets used. It's just not that flexible.
