hello everyone,

i own a website dedicated to architecture and would like selling some of my photos in poster prints on there.

i have the photos ready to be printed, and have footers on them. now i would like to start getting them printed to see how they look and get them ready to sell.

where should i get them printed? is it possible to get my posters in stores for retail? if so, how do i go about doing that?

for now i just wanna make a print for myself to see how they will look. it seems most print shops want me to make like 200 at a time, so i wanna test it out first to see how my images look in large formats.
should i get this done at a cheap place like walgreens or someplace like kinkos?

I will give you two sources:

1) MPIX - (http://www.mpix.com) - the do a 20x30" print on photographic paper - one at a time. They do pretty much any size up to 20x30, and I've done a 20x30 - turned out great.

When you do want to do quantity, there are some choices:

2) Axis Flyers - They do poster prints from 11x17 up to 18x24 - either digital or offset printing, in larger quantities. The 11x17 is digital printing, quantity as few as 25 for $60. If you go to the 12x18 size, min qty is 500 ($260) and 18x24 min qty is 500 ($675).

Good luck!

There's a printing FAQ in my sig, I suspect it links to great prices at Elco, and the quality's great too. I'll post then check out the link myself then post a direct link if I can see one.

Metallic looks "cool", but you get a bit sick of the effect after a while. Most people won't see them often so won't get sick of it. Metallic costs more I think.

elco color out of NJ is fantastic. The quality is as good as any lab I have used, and you can't beat their poster pricing or their quantity discounts. I just used them to print 160 12x24 panoramics. I think the minimum order was 5 prints at a cost of $3.20ea. Also, if you order $100 or more, it is free shipping, which is easy to do with posters.
