I posted this shot here a while ago. But I just got photomatix, so now I'm going back to some of my older photos and trying to do some HDR stuff to them. What do you think? Original version, or new version?

They are both very nice. I like the mood in #1, but the softness in 2 with the colors is very pleasing.

The first one is very striking. It makes the second one look a bit bland by comparison. My vote goes to the first version.

Actually, if you scroll up and see the second picture first, it does look very nice. When you then scroll up further and see the first picture it does look a bit OTT. I don't know what that means in terms of going forward with one or the other. I guess basically they both look good :)
