This just happened out of the blue. The LCD of my S50 has
started behaving wierdly.
The LCD is grayish with blurry vertical lines. It is obviously
trying to show something since the colors change as I move
the camera as well as when I press the menu button.
The camera itself is working fine since I can take pictures
(and I have checked the resultant jpg on my computer). Its just the LCD
is completely unuseable. Its not broken as I have not dropped the camera.

I thought maybe there was a setting issue so I've reset the setting to
default values but still no luck. I can't really use the menu since
can't read anything on the LCD.

apprecitae any pointers.

regards

I'd recommend sending the camera in for service.

Does the LCD have the anomolous color all the time, or just when the camera is powered on?

Mechanical shock is not the only way an LCD can be damaged -- could be heat damage, electrical defect, internal fracturing from deformation due to pressure, etc.

It does sound like a HW defect. I agree -- time for the service center.

Good luck with it.
