Hill Country Ride

This photo was taken on Sept. 1st near Vanderpool, TX.
The original jpeg file wasn't so good, but it was the only one I had.

My intent was to fix it up with digital photo editing. The question is, how evident is the editing? Critique please.

Its the borders around the fine detail that give it away - once spotted its quite distracting IMO.

Perhaps the selection could be featered a pixel or two to improve the edge blend?

As Pete observed, pixel feathering would improve the final result, but I was concerned about something that is "wrong" on a larger scale (like the entire photo), before I spend time on the details of pixel feathering.
