I have the 4gig microdrive and have had no problems with it, although I still use it sparingly. When it really, really matters, I use 1-gig CF cards. I guess I've heard too many horror stories to completely trust it.

I have used one nearly everyday for 6 months without incident. Filled it up on an Alaska vacation earlier in the year without issue. A little slow compared to CF card but never really caused me a problem. I got mine for $200 from a Creative Muvo2.

They have good bang for the buck. I have been using three 340 meg IBMs for several years and a 4 gig also out of a Muvo since they came out and have had absolutely no problems.

I carried my 4gb MD in my backpack in the camera while traveling 8 weeks in Alaska. I filled it up so many times with RAW files that I lost count. I shot over 7,000 pictures all on the MD and only lost one file due to a corruption. I knew immediately that I lost the file and reshot the pictures. Luckly the volcano didn't erupt and me miss a shot. But I will take the percentage (1/7000) anyday.
Sincerely,
JD
