I think this is a situation where just a little more thought pre- snap would have made a better photo. It looks like you have a tree growing out of the roof of your Jeep, and either you moving or moving the vehicle may be that little thing that really improves this shot. Having the front of the vehicle pointing toward the light to bring out the detail of the grill would help as well.

So now you have to drive back to RMNP to reshoot. Could be a lot worse.

Having the front of the vehicle pointing toward the light to bring out the detail of the grill would help as well. Shooting in less contrasty conditions, as in late light, will help with that, too.
