First, a question, have any of you used in-camera sharpening and noticed that it seemed to result in more OOF photos? I tried it recently and seemed to have more OOF photos than usual. I switched back tonight and had more with good focus. Anyone else notice the same sort of thing?

Some photos from a couple of different games. The first ones are at a gym with good lighting, just a little too much blue that was adjusted for with custom WB. I used an 85mm f/1.8 on them.

These were with a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8, and a 430EX bounced off the ceiling in the gym with red lighting.

Exposure looks good. Like #4 the best. The light in the second gym is crazy.

Whereabouts do you sit at the baseline with your 85? I usually sit a few feet outside the key, but last time out I moved back beyond where the 3pt line meets the baseline and found I like that distance better.

Great shots and great timing, I like them a lot. I agree with Ronnie, 4 is excellent.

NIce shots especially for most of them being at such a low f/stop.

Ronnie, thank you. Yeah, I still try to shoot in that gym with ambient light, but it's hard to get the post-processing right, so I've been working on using the flash there this season. I agree with you on getting between the 3-point line and the corner with the 85mm. Just seems to me that if I try to get any closer to the paint, refs and players get in the way of too many shots and I usually wish I'd gotten a little more in the photo. In the red gym I'm usually in the door jam closest to the corner in photo #6 or about where the guy is standing. In 1, 2, and 4 I was all the way to the corner of that court.

Ocron, thank you very much. I think #4 is my favorite one of that player this season, unfortunately it probably won't be his because I believe he missed that layup. :o

Redfish, lol, I haven't done posters yet, but I'll probably put that one in the yearbook for his mama. :) Thanks!

EL Photo, thanks, much appreciated.
