i just got my fist dslr cam. its the canon 400D. i have the 28-80 3.5-5.6 tamron lens. not sure if the lens is good. it came with the camera. here is the first try at getting a good pic. i had the lighting on my new baby girl. any tips on getting a better pic? what do you think of my pic? and thanks for the people that will bless me for my new addition. it truley is a blessing! any tips would be great. this pic is unedited! i know i can play with it to clean it up some. feel free to play with it and repost here as something better. im not too good with that either. i leterally have had this cam for 2 days and never picked up one before.

Awww she looks lovely. No wonder you're so happy! Makes me feel all clucky..

It's a nice picture but it would have been nice to have all of the baby in shot instead of just the upper body. Apart from that, well done (on both counts lol)

Congratulations, she's a cutie.

All I can say is shoot, shoot, and shooot some more. Poke around this site and read. You can learn a ton by reading and never even have to post a question - they've been asked and answered at one time or another. Use the 'search' function.

Keep the camera handy as babies soon enough grow up and leave home. Whether the picture is good or not - you have captured that moment in her life forever -it is, or will be, priceless to you someday.
