Is there a way to retrieve AVI files from my S400 without going through Canon's ImageBrowser SW program? The app opens, but then immediately quits, and given other people's experience with Canon Support, I'm giving up on ImageBrowser
(ImageBrowser is Canon's program for Macs. Photorecord is the Win equivalent.)
(I've tried upgrading to the latest version, I've tried upgrading to the next-to-the-latest version, etc. The other programs that came on the original CD work fine. (Too) Many posts at Versiontracker.com have reported unexpected quitting on similar OS configurations (mine's a OSX 10.3.5), without any real solution http://www.windowstracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/15257 (link works / doesn't work -- finicky git; close window, then click again)
if nothing else works, then at least I have the option of loading the original CD's Win software on a friend's win-machine, and (hopefully) upload the AVI files that way.
thanks for any insight / thoughts,
P
