nice effect: the grey color of the insect and the pink of the flower.
#2 is for me the best, for compo and lights.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone- much appreciated :)
Interesting effect you get with the rhododendron pollen coming out in strings.
DooleyPix - I was using my "beanpole" to help stabilise the camera - Just a pole I grip in my left hand along with a bit of camera.

Brian, what flash/ diffusers do you use? Been meaning to ask you that. You achieve pretty much perfect lighting in all your pictures.

Thanks again for the comments everyone :)
Ran_P - I use a bracket mounted 430Ex with home-made diffuser - the coca-cola can model :) http://www.flickr.com/groups/macroviewers/discuss/72157594312315664/

Another nice series Brian, especially #3.
One thing I've noticed though, the lighting doesn't seem as "soft" in your shots since you got the 40D, I will attribute this down to using DPP instead of C1. It's just a tad harsher imho, but still better than most of us here achieve imho.

Thanks Dave :)- suspect the difference you are seeing is possibly because I've started doing further sharpening on the web reduced images which I never used to do before. Think my non reduced images are exactly the same.

Ahh...large images on flickr are beyond my reach at the moment, they just take too long to view...
