Interesting you should say that. Do they look better than my previous shots?

The only thing i have changed is the amount of kitchen towel i had over the diffuser. I changed it yesterday and only put one piece over. Before i had two layers and a layer of plastic from a tescos carrier bag to waterproof it.
To me the image looks much better.

Well yes they do look different to some of your previous shots but have to admit I thought it was because of less sharpening. Interesting if it's just a change in the diffuser. Think they do look a bit more "natural"

Alistair--these are some of your best. If you changed something, stay with it. They look much sharper to me. You must be spending a lot of time crawling around on your bellie?? LOL. Stunning shots.

The change in the diffuser material is the only thing that has changed. To me the backgrounds are alot smoother than they were before. Im still using the same PP as i was before. Interesting that the diffuser material should have such an effect on the images.

You may find flash angle/lens angle has as much to do with it. Every time I try to do a test of diffuser material setups, I amazed how little difference I seem to get in the shots (including no diffuser). I keep telling myself I chose the wrong target subject :)
