20D Firmware Update Question

Hi
How do you place the 1.0.5 firmware update in the"root directory" of the CF card after you have downloaded it onto your desktop. The directions say not to place the file in a folder.

Extract it onto your deskop, copy the .fir file over to the CF disk using a CF card reader. Copy to the root directory not inside a folder. Take the card out of the reader and put into your camera.

Your computer gives your CF card reader a letter (D, E, F, etc) like any other hard drive. Just copy the file to that letter(root) and not a folder.
