I am planning to join one of these organizations to get insurance on my equipment.

What one of these is better for insurance?

WPJA is not a professional organization. It's more of an online listing service for advertising wedding photography.

PPA is the best all-around trade organization for wedding/portrait photographers. They offer liability insurance as well as their "indeminification trust" that will step in if you screw up a wedding or have a problem client that threatens to sue you. Best of all, that service is free with your membership.

There's a lot of reasons why PPA is a great organization, but those two especially pertain to you. (I'm a member by the way.)

I should add that I'm also a WPPI member and will be speaking at their convention in Vegas. The convention is well worth the visit thought you don't need to be a member.

Great info, thanks!

Is it worth getting the pro PPA for $320 a year? Do you get many referrals?

I'm also interested in this. On the App I received it stated that if you're a new Photographer you can pay less.

another vote for PPA. I just joined a couple months ago, went to my first seminar on Studio Management. Boy did I learn a lot. If I incorporate 1/5 of what I learned the payback will be worth years and years of dues.
I can't wait to attend my first convention next Jan.
