I just wanted to see what you guys think of these two photos. I like the contrast and the patterns of shadow on the house in the first one, but I'm not sure if I just like it because it's one I took or if it's actually a decent photo. :D

The second one is my first real attempt at softening a photo. I like the way it looks, but I'm not sure how strong the picture really is. Again, I may just like it because I took it.

I appreciate any comments or critiques anyone has.

You forget to include the required http:// in front of your image url. That is why it is not showing up.

BUT FIRST, go back into whatever editing software you are using and resample these shots down to 800 pixels wide, max. That is the maximum width that the board can handle.

As far as the shots go, the first does nothing for me. I like the forest, but you could crop off the lower 1/3 for a tighter shot.

Whoops, sorry. I think I've got it fixed now. The images are 1000 px wide in my gallery, and I completely forgot to resize them for the board. And they're being hosted from behind my firewall, so they don't show up in my browser for me to check. Thanks for the heads-up.

Here's a cropped version of the forest image. Is this close to what you were thinking about? I cropped it to a 4x6 ratio (probably ddin't get rid of exactly the bottom third, but I figured cropping it to a standard ratio would make sense).
