Just heard the news 10 minutes ago. R.I.P. He was truly more of a Superman as a Quadriplegic.

The first moviei I ever saw was a superman movie, I would have been about 4 years old, and although I don't remember the movie I do remember going.

Although I was never a great fan of the Superman movie series, I applaud Chris Reeve's determination and grace after his horse accident. After being confined to life support and a wheel chair, he battled for his freedom from those constraints, and he continually (but slowly) gained ground. Mr. Reeve's... a real life hero.

May he walk in peace. (Sorry, but I can't see him just resting.)

It's a good thing he wasn’t affiliated with religion or politics; otherwise we wouldn’t be able to commemorate his life.

You resurrected a 6 month old thread?

Chris Reeve was neither politics nor religion - some just don't get it . . .

Have Fun,

No he's a human, just like John Paul II

Timmy,

Politics and religion are emotional topics that cause photography threads to be locked. We are a world-wide community with differing views - need I say more?

Have Fun,

I'm sorry but i just dont understand what views come into play when someone is dead.

Especially when it is presented in a fashion that offers no opinion...it's called news.

Timmy,

Sorry, I just can't go there on a public forum without feeling like I poured gasoline all over the floor in a metalworking shop.

Have Fun,

I'm not Roman Catholic and I have no emotional attachment to the Pope, but I have to agree with timmy on this one. I can't comprehend what is religious about announcing that the Pope is dead or near death. He's an important world figure. That's like saying that an announcement that a president or former president has died is political. Nonsense - it's news.

For the record, the same applies to myself.

Yup, I have to second that. And I'm one to shun all political and religious discussions.

I was raised Roman Catholic, but now consider myself closer to Lutheran. In any case (in my opinion) allowing discussions to start allows one thing to lead to another, and the next thing you know we are in flames.

There is bound to be someone who feels wronged, ignored, etc. or does not cherish Christianity as others might. As I said, we are a world-wide community with differing, and in some cases, conflicting religious views.

Fool? You are incorrigible. I'm out - I've tried to make my point.

Have Fun as long as you can.

The fool would be the jack ass who would like to turn such a thread into a debate about how old the earth really is. Not the person who said "A world figure has died today...just thought i'd let you know"

I'm guessing when they found Hitlers body they kept that out of public discussions because what he stood for varied with some peoples opinions.

In my opinion, your suspension on this forum was up about a year too soon - see ya.
