I am in the middle of looking for a new house, as I sold my house 2 months ago. For now I am living at one of my friend's mobile home with my Rotweiler till I can find a good deal for my next project home.
Well today the manager of the trailer park came knocking at the door and he told my friend that if my dog is not gone by tomorrow, he will get evicted form the park. this was the first and only warning he is giving him. I don't know how much more time it will take me to find a house, and the process of buying one takes about a month. so tomorrow I have to get raid of my dog:cry: which is like my son, and I don't know any body to keep it for a while. I am devastated.http://smilies.vidahost.com/cwm/3dlil/sad.gif

That is too bad, but the park manager isn't really under any obligation to give you 'warnings.' It would be nice if he had, though.
You might want to check if there are any people in your are who rescue Rottweilers. Maybe they would board the dog for you until you can find a house and close escrow. No way should you give up your dog, though.
Unfortunately, Rottweilers have a reputation similar to Pit Bulls, and they make some people very nervous. People who are used to them would be far less likely to make it an issue.
Maybe it would be worth sitting down with the manager and respectfully explaining your predicament.
Is your dog noisy?

I wouldn't get rid of him. You can board him, go to another place (wekly discounts at motels) etc. I could never just get rid of either of my dogs.

I know Rottweilers have a bad reputation, many places don't allowed them alone with the Pit Bulls, Doberman and Shows. I keep my dog in the house all the time and only go outside to do his business for about 10 minutes at the time. He only bark one time to tell me to get him in. He is in no way aggressive, he actually play with my friend's cat and love to play with ducks. My ex-girlfriend had 3 kids and they were riding him like a horse.
My friend told me that the manager was an A-hole. So sitting down with him won't change anything.
And to rent a Motel here at this time of year, forget it. My dad is here for 2 months and he's paying $750 a week right now.
But I will definitely look up for boarding places tomorrow. I really don't want to loose him and I was almost ready to move in my truck till I find a place. Like in SNL, Living in a van down by the river...

seems your best interests are served by satying where you are and having the Dog stay in a kennel ... cheaper than trying to find a place for the two of you. If you explain that decision to the guy then maybe he will give you a few extra days while you sort things out. If not then bad luck.

What is the law where you are regarding evictions? In the UK it can't be done without due and fairly protracted process.
You should be able to find a boarding kennel for your dog without too much trouble - all it takes is money....
Some people are intimidated by Rotties as has been pointed out. most I know are real softies, but I also know a couple that are lethal. The same can be said for Yorkies too - seriously! but the problem with Rotties is that they are so strong and big that they do far more damage IF they attack.
To be honest, if this A hole is worried about your dog, for the dog's own safety you need to move him.

Next time don't sell until you already have a new house. ;)
I hope you get it worked out. I know I wouldn't want to give up our dogs either.

I faced a similar predicament years ago when I first met my wife. I had a pit bull named Bolo back then, the most awesome dog I've ever owned, and I've owned and trained close to 500 dogs over the years. My wife was highly allergic to him. (We weren't married yet, just shacking up.)
After a few months of literally coming home from work and her sticking her head out the window to breathe, she said it's me or the dog.
Still not quite certain I made the right decision. :(

Also a Rottie lover, promise I'd never part with him for a place to live!
I second the need to board him while you move.
Don't ask a rescue to take him in, though. They will want you to sign ownership over so that they can place him. And taking in yours will mean that a foster home spot is gone, closing the door for a Rott in a shelter.
You might approach the rescue people to board him - where you pay them (well) for the temporary boarding. That money would help another dog and helps solve your problem. They would be a good resource for new places to live as well!
Good luck, to both of you!
Lora (and baby Kirby - he's now 6!).

Since $$$ Talks and BS Walks I would sit and talk with the manager and if that did not work, offfer the A-Hole an extra $25/week CASH to just tolerate you for a few more weeks. He might accept - particularly if you're waving the dead presidents in front of him.

Since this is only temporary till you find a place, why don't you see if you have any friends available that can watch him.. or if not there's always those dog sitting places.

Would any local vets be able to help you out? Maybe they'd know of someone who'd be willing to take care of him until you get things back on track?

How does a protracted process help him prevent causing his friend from being evicted for doing him a favor? He has clearly violated the parks pet rules, so the outcome would not likely be in doubt.

Simply that regardless out how badly behaved a tenant is, it is impossible to throw them out on the street without a court order, which is time consuming and expensive. If this were a temporary situation it would be unlikley that anyone would take it further. you certainly wouldn't be able to evict someone with no warning, or even a single warning. and if the dog in question was gone by the time it came to court, a magistrate would throw the case out. The landlord would have to show persistent abuse of the rules over a period of time.
Bear in mind this is the situation in the UK. Tenants clearly have a stronger legal position here, often to the detriment of landlords, who take some risk when they rent a property.

Thanks for all your support.
I've called my ex to see if she could find a place for him. She called her sister to ask her if it will be OK to keep Taz for a little while, and she said yes. All I had to do is go buy a section of fence to block the one side of her house. So $50 latter I got the fence fixed. So my dog got himself a nice big yard and some kids to play with him. I know he will be in good hand there, because he knows them and he used to play with those kids.
when I left the first time to go get parts for the fence, she told me that Taz stayed by the door the owl time waiting for me to come back. I know he's gonna miss me as much as I'm gonna miss him...
But I'm happy to have found a place that I know he will be fine.
I took him see the horses this morning before going over there.

Many trailer parks in the US are month-to-month land leases with contracts for septic service etc. That's different from rent of a domicile.
I'll ask my neighbor, who owns 4 of them, about this.

It kind of work the same here. but the thing is with trailer parks, and the way it work is, the owner of the park can kick him out anytime he wants. Because he is not putting my friend in the street, he is putting my friend's house out of his park. and they give you a month to do it. park owner kind if look for things like that to get raid of all the old trailers, so new ones will be replacing them with a higher lot rent.

Thanks for the good news Dozer - I was worried for you and your dog, he reminds me of a great Rottie called Khan that I know well. He has the same look about him.
I have to admit it sounds like he is in a better place than having to stay cooped up indoors all the time.
I hope you get a new home soon !

Glad to see that things are working out for you and you are going to be able to get your dog back.
If that manager told you to get rid of your dog because it was a Rottweiler and allowed some other resident of the park with a different breed to keep their dog, then you might have grounds for a discrimination complaint.
My in-laws ran into this problem when they were trying to rent a place when they moved to Maine. Nobody would rent to them because they had a dog, in their case a Brittany Spaniel. They were told by several landlords that their insurance would not allow renting to people with certain breeds, such as Rotties and Pits, but because of anti-discrimination laws, they had no choice but to refuse to rent to anyone with a dog.

the thing with the owners is, they don't want any dogs over 35lbs. But there is a Labrador down the street. If this was my place, I would of raise hell, but this is not my place, and I didn't want to get my friend in to any problem. But all this will be solve in a few days.

the title company is taken forever to get their sh!t together. I already gave them the check for the house, and they are missing a paper, so we can't close yet. I took Taz there yesterday even know they told me to wait. Why wait? I paid the house, put the insurance on it and got the power on my name. what else do they want? I even started painting today to keep company to my dog.
Hopefully Monday or Tuesday it will be all done, so I can move in my freshly painted bedroom... :p
