Ixus 330 (S330) Macro

I've recently become the proud owner of an Ixus 330 :o)

However, the macro facility seems to be very hit and miss. I end up with results like this:

Is it me or is it the camera?

too me it looks like you are too close to the image, so the focus is soft. I have the same problem with the a40 so i picked up some macro lenses to change the focus distance. I'm not sure if you can add lenses to your camera so you are gonna have to control the distance to the object better. this is the hardest part for me. :)
