I am ready to give up completely on finding models on the net. I have had this woman booked for the last 4 months for a glamor/ head shot shoot. Scheduled time was 10 this morning and 10:30 came and no show and no call. So I call her.
Me: Hey this is Charles Gantt. You had a booking with me today.
Her: uummmm yea I remember that. What time is it scheduled for?
Me: It WAS scheduled for 10am. \
Her: Well you should have known anyone like me was not going to wake up at 10am!
Me: That was the time you asked for.
Her: Well no one in the BIZ is ever on time. Besides I have to go shopping today. Can we schedule for next week?
Me: No I am booked up for the next 2 weeks
Her: Well if you cant find time to fit me in then you are not worth my time.
Me: I guess I am not worth your time then. Good luck with your shopping and your modeling career.
Me: hangs up the phone
This is ridiculous. This is a newby who found me through MM. She showed potential but had not worked with anyone with experience. So I decided to do her head shots for free but charge a discounted fee for her glamor work. She did pay me a deposit of $30 when I booked her. Thank god she insisted on her own MUA or I would be out some money.
"In the BIZ" my ass!!!! The only people who have shot this girl are a set of local "photographers" (used even looser than before) who both shoot with S2is p&s. They have homemade lighting setups (cheap clamp lamps) and use floral pattern sheets from walmart for there backdrops.......I take that back. I just reread her MM profile and she must be a professional because she seems very proud that she went to school for modeling. This school being Barbazon or however you spell it. Great for her she spent 3k+ just to be told she was a professional model. If barbazon makes girls into professional models then all the girls in NYC this week for Fashion Week better watch out because "people in the BIZ who have the highly coveted modeling degree from barbazon" are going to take over.
What is it with these girls? This is the 4th or 5th "model" (and I use the term loosely) who has no showed on me in the past 4 months. I don't understand it. I make it a point to meet with them before hand and show them a print portfolio. I know its not me because 100% of models I recruit off line (the real world for people who dont understand) always show up and 9 times out of 10 show back up and pay for more time.
I wish someone would start a black list site for models where we could list models names who have skipped out on there appointments.
Ok sorry about the rant I just had to get it off my chest and my partner told me to not speak when he saw me hang up the phone.
