Sorry for the over exposure. Twas a sunny day. This schoolroom is
approximately 140 years old, not very ancient to you outside the U.S.,
but of historical interest around these parts. Which, if either, do you
prefer? Thanks for your comments.

The black and white one wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so grainy. It is not as good of quality as the color. The color looks good to me though.

I think the colour one looks better at the moment. Maybe you could try half desaturating the image and not adding the grain?

I'd go for the first B & W.............but I'd also do some PS work around the bright light of the windows.

Yeah, I put that grain in there for effect. (Oh, well.) If I knew how to
fix that over exposure, I certainly would. Any suggestions? I toyed around
with it in PS but I'm not very good at it, I'm afraid.

Is this the school house in Florham Park?

No. This is the former West Freehold School of Monmouth county, N.J.
It dates from 1867. I have exterior pictures of it and another 19th
century school in a different part of the township. These schools share
at least one interesting trait--they both have separate doors for boys
and girls to enter and exit. Apparently, the boys sat on one side of the
room and the girls likewise the other side. I'll post pictures if anyone's interested.

Rick,
I doesn't do it for me for a couple reasons. First, the walls should be parallel. Second, I find it to be too brightly lit for an environment that "should" be moody.
Sorry that I don't care for it, but at least I have reasons.
