This is a good place to learn about digital cameras. Grammar, spellling, and syntax tend to suffer here, however.

Welcome.

Sorry, Jeff, but with your post count you would only qualify for 3 credit units and that's hardly enough for a PhD. Now, take CDS. Here we're seriously looking at a real PhD of Forumology candidate right there. :D

Of course, with his typos, he'd never pass his English classes, though. Unless he went back and retook his Typing 101 class all over again.

Oh from this place yeah. I don't have enough to even get 3 credit hours. A sports board called The New World where I was registered for about 2 years went under. My post count was right at 2000 and that board was an offshoot of a Jim Rome Sports board where I was good for about 12-1400 and one more of which I can't think of the name that was another fork off Jim Rome which I had over a 1000 but not by much. LOL At one time I was on 3 boards, mostly made up of the a lot of the same people, just different nic's. I don't post nearly as much as I used to, on any board. Those were just the sports boards and not counting 2 other political boards. I wasn't on those as much. The sports boards all had politics too. And some strange agents too boot. All this from about 2000-2003

<thinks to self.....self>
Man you need to get out more.

Welcome to the forums here, especially if you have a Canon digital camera these forums are really good. There are other forums on the Internet, but the photography-on-the.net forums here are my favourite - people are generally very helpful and relaxed here.

In some of the other forums, people are sometimes very unfriendly, especially towards newbies who ask questions that have been asked many times before, or they try to tell people all kinds of nonsense just because they want to be "famous" for a moment.

Fortunately, the forums here are not like that... :)

Jessica, do you have a Rebel (film camera) or Digital Rebel (digital camera).
I assume the later, correct?

Tell us a bit more about what kind of pictures you like to take. Of course, it says 'a picture tells more than a 1000 words', but maybe this won't be accepted for your English assignment.

Best regards,
Andy

Welcome to the forum (from the lately scarce poster Tom W). The digital Rebel is a very capable camera. I have the 10D for now, but the 10D and the Digital Rebel share many of the same mechanics and electronics on the inside.

If you want to ace the class next semester, do this: Read the manual - twice. Then, take the camera and the manual out and try different features, settings, and such. Check out the results. You'll learn very fast, and you'll have a big advantage when its time to be tested.

Hi Jessica-

Welcome (Jon from Detroit).

Free advice - Don't talk to these people anymore !! they have warped sense(s) of humor. They are severely opinionated. Each only knows ONE thing, so they travel in packs to make it look like they're smart about a lot of stuff. I'm pretty sure that they are all middle school drop outs, but if you are nice to them, they leave you alone !!

I am deadly serious and never joke around !!

Also I have thin skin and am very sensitive.

Jessica - Run while there is still time.

Well since you state that you're deadly serious and you don't joke around, I WILL take your comment seriosly, and I am very offended by it.
Sense of humor is subjective and the knowledge of these people is based on more facts than opinions, so please don't insult me and everyone else's inteligence. Middle school dropouts... pleeeeaaassse
This is probably the friendliest photography forum among the many forums out there, and you just insulted every member, as well as trying to scare new members with stupid comments like that.

If you don't like this forum, please leave my friend... :?

Jessica:
You have it figured out just fine. This is a wonderful forum and the vast majority of its members are friendly and helpful. I don't know why setiprime said that, but you can safely ignore it. Perhaps he's just trying to use irony for humor. If so, I'm sure he'll explain himself. If not, then we can all dismiss him as a nut.

Next to Disneyland, this is the happiest place on earth.

I'm 100% positive that SetiPrime is offering "sarcasm"...

I guess the trouble was, sarcasm is the ONE THING I know ....

...Thus it was lost on everyone else... :P

SetiPrime simply needs to learn the fine art of the Forum Smiley!

Once he has that tackled.. his droll sense of humor will annoy every one in a completely different way!

Man, is that ever the truth. I've had my 300D for about two weeks, and I've learned more about photography in those two weeks than I had in the past two years.

Oh, I'm new here as well, my name's Tom, I'm a senior journalism student at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and I'm taking a Photojournalism course next semester. ::waves::
