Yes nice shots especially #1 - what did happen to the Lotus? I was at stage 5 and it never came through there.

Looking good, Ant. It seems the 120-300mm is working for you.

Guess your happy with the new toy? Should be

#2 of the Focus and #4 of the Micra are crackers. Also nice shot of the stoopid 306, like the angle because you can see where he's come from, leads you in and out of the picture :D

Looks like we have another happy member of the 120-300 & Arms like Popeye club ;)

Some nice shots there Ant but there's something about that last one with the sign post that works really well for me.

Thanks for the comments guys

I'm made up with the 120-300, it's a great lens. I was surprised that it didn't feel too heavy in use, I hand held it all day;)

great photos ant!! as said before the 120-300 is a really nice lens! just bloody expensive if you want to use a filter!

There's an amazingly cheap way to avoid that expense... ;)

I only like to have one on as a stone chipped filter is cheaper than a stone chipped piece of lens glass

I was lucky that I bought mine with a filter;)

Glad t see you're enjoying the 120-300 Ant!

I think that the first shot of this selection is the stand out for me. A very dynamic image. Well done.

Simon.

Lookin' great ... the little Nissan looks somewhat incongruous :-)

I am very tempted by this lens. If it had OS I would have it in a heartbeat!

You don't need O S;) I'd only used the lens for 20 mins before the rally, I didn't find it as heavy as I first thought, it's a quality piece of kit

There's always room for improvement but I'm more than happy with the results first time out:D

Buy one! you won't regret it

I have found over the last 18 months that I seem to be much more shakey handholding than I used to be. I used to handhold my ex Bigma OK but now I can hardly get a sharp shot at 200mm! I think my hesitating is due to the new OS lenses recently announced and as I don't need this until August, and have budgeted for the 300mm IS L, it could be in my interests to wait and see what happens. A zoom with close to the L's quality, able to take TCons fine, would be a bonus for me over the prime. I then wouldn't need to take my 70-200mm IS L too.

Nice selection of shots Ant but the first one of Damian Cole really stands out, plenty of action in the photo.

Hmmm yet another person with a 120-300:idea:

Cheers
Ian

Yes, at one point on Saturday I was standing at a corner with four of the things there. Gone are the days when it was my little secret

Impressive collection, looks like you got yourself in a great position. Can't say I've ever seen a Lotus Elise on a rally either so thanks for sharing :D

I confess...I tried a Canon 100-400 and the Sigma 120-300 on the same day.

Bought the 120-3!

Is a cracking lens even on a lower spec body.

I've championed it ever since, seems that people are getting wise to it's attributes. More so the guys that shoot rallies. I used to use my 70-200 2.8 exclusively but went for the big fella on the Tempest in November and well....will be taking it again!

Oh and went handheld all day at a track day in Wales with it!
