Lens correction?

What exactly does that mean? I saw it in the Archive EF 10-22 thread where Mat Fitzsimmons used it this way "Both 20D + 10-22 at 10mm, uncropped and without any lens correction."

I assume he means no use of the Photoshop (or similar) lens distortion correction 'filter' to remove any curvatures and/or converging verticals etc.

The 10-22 is extremely good at not distorting things too much, even at 10mm.
