AK: The one I got from Berger Bros. was 1.02, which I upgraded with no problems. I should have the one from Dell tomorrow.

I just called him and we talked for a little. It turns out they can ONLY sell the 20D with the kit lens, and Dell also charges tax. So in the end, for me, it will be cheaper to buy the 20D body only from an online store that does not charge tax. Too bad, because Jack seemed to be a very good rep and I would have liked to buy from him. But I just don't need that kit lens and would rather put the money towards something else for my camera.

He gave me the KIT 20D cheapter then the 1499.99 retail price for the BODY only.

So, I can just sell the KIT lens for 100.+ its going on EBAY and come out way on top :) even with TAX.

If I buy from Dell:
$1450 for the 20D with kit lens
$120 for tax (I live in CA)
$1570 total
$70 subtracted for selling the kit lens on eBay (and that's being generous)
So my total money paid would be about $1500

If I buy from Jano's Photo Video:
$1450 for the 20D with body only
No tax, no hassle of selling the kit lens on eBay
Total money paid is $1450

So really, I am thinking profit. And plus, I don't have to deal with selling the kit lens on eBay once I get it in from Dell. That just means that much more time to play with my new 20D! :lol:

Damn I was hoping for the 15% off. My problem is that I currently have a $90 coupon and a $59.90 refund credit that I have been given to use on a 20D camera (body only) at Dell. I can only use the coupon online so I have to wait for Dell to relist the 20D (I got the $90 coupon and the $59.90 refund credit to equal the 10% Dell was giving on the 20D...it's a long story how I got them to give it to me so I'm not gonna go into that).




But anyway how'd you get 15% off??? Could you email me your order number so I could use that as reference to try to get 15% off my order?

Well I just got off the phone with "Jack" at Dell and it turns out that the 20D kit is shipped out of Small business and by ordering through small business I'd have to pay sales tax...so...so much for a good deal from Dell.


In my state sales tax is 7.3% so the $1450 deal gets bumped up to $1555.85 - Not a deal in my opinion.

Yes while I realize that who wants (or has to) to sales tax...what a rip...

I was all for buying the 20D kit for $1450 but I'm not gonna pay sales tax and end up paying $1555 when all I want is the camera body (which I can still purchase through Dell for $1350 if they would relist the 20D online - I have a coupon that's only good online for the 20D).

SCORE!!!!

I just got 20D kit from Dell for $1450 shipped (no sales tax! no shipping!)!!!


And it only took me 2hrs (yes 2 freaking hours!) and 5 (yes FIVE) different sales reps, customer care reps and supervisors before I found one who could give me the 20D kit for $1450 WITHOUT taxes!

Then after I dump the kit lens on Ebay (surely it's worth at lest $50) the 20D will have cost me less than $1400 (not to mention a almost free 1GB ultra II cf - see below).

Plus as a side note I still have a discount coupon worth $90 that is suppose to be used towards the purchase of a 20D; but I just tried it and it works on anything over $90 for sale on Dell so I guess I'll buy a $99 1GB Ultra II cf that will cost me $9 (after I use my $90 coupon)!

I guess persistance does pay off!!! :D :D :D

She lives in another state, so tomorrow I take it to UPS to ship to her. Can't wait for her reaction, as she's gonna be surprised, and happy, big time. And that will make me happy, big time. :)

When the Body and KIT were avaialble on their website at the beginning of month or end of Sept. The body was 1499 and kit 1599. They had it like every other place.
