What I love about the drag races!

Went to the drags in Pomona today....just posting to share...not really looking for any C&C, although it is welcome...enjoy, if anyone hasn't ever been to a drag racing event! You gotta go, even if its just as a fan..it's hard as h*ll to get a good racing shot, since they just go so fast...but I'm still learning too...all of these pix were shot with my 70-300 IS.

Looks like a fun day in the sun. Did they run into the evening? Night shots at the drags are the best, though difficult.

Jealous?? But...it looks like it says "Nikon" on it?? Haha, jk jk. Nikon makes great stuff too.

2. i hate you. well ok, maybe not hate you, just dislike you. it is -5°F out here with -30° windchills. no drag racing going on here.. looks like a fun day though.
3. great shots. i love going to route 66 when the big boys show up.

Yeah, well, youre going to hate me even more so, when I tell you that we rode a motorcycle there at 8 am with just a sweatshirt, and I came home with a huge sunburn! Who knew....sunburnt in February!LOL...

Really like the one of Maclenathan (sp?), it looks like you were at the same height as the car... looks slick. Never shot this type of racing, although seems like itd be a fun challenge!

Maybe get in the middle of the track and see if you can focus track em at 200 plus ha JOKE ! nice job "btw" will have my try at this this coming summer too looks like fun

Nice work from the stands. Can't be the easiest of things to get good shots from there.

Be sure to post more from any other events you go to. I love the NHRA stuff.

You've got some pretty good shots for "still learning", these guys are quite difficult to get good shots of from the stands. I kinda laughed when I saw the beer because you see so many people there that spend more on that then they do to get into the races. At $8 each, I limit myself to one beer just before I head up to the stands.

Hey, you should print off a copy of that pic I took of him and take it over to him....us photogs never have pics of ourselves...what a funny coincidence! Thanks for sharing his pics...I would have had a rad pic of Tonys car blowing up, but the girl on the left of me turned her head so quick and her hair moved in front of the lens, and so I had a pic of her hair with flames coming out around it....LOL...
