what is considered to be the better CF cards? I want to get a 1 gig and can't believe the price spread.

The Sandisk Extreme are only worth the money if you like to freeze your a-- off. I use two 2GB Sandisk Ultra II's in my Mark II.

Sandisk Ultra IIs seem to be the best bang for the buck right now. I have a 1Gb Ultra II in my 20D. According to Rob Galbraith's performance tests, the few cards that are faster than the Ultra II are only faster by less than 1%.
